Technical Information

Sophie James Decor paint is a premium British-made, water-based decorative paint suitable for furniture, walls, woodwork, metal, glass, brick and many other properly prepared surfaces. It is self-priming in most situations and includes an integrated wax, meaning most projects do not require separate primers or finishing waxes.

The paint provides excellent coverage of up to 14m² per litre and dries quickly, allowing two coats to be applied within approximately two hours under normal conditions. Autumn Leaf is one of the more vibrant colours in the Sophie James range, so additional coats may occasionally be required to achieve maximum depth of colour.

Containing a non-toxic natural mineral rather than chalk, Sophie James Decor paint delivers outstanding durability, excellent adhesion and a smooth finish that's designed for everyday living. The paint is low in VOCs, suitable for interior and exterior use on correctly prepared surfaces, and manufactured in the UK using high-performance resins for long-lasting results.

For best results, prepare surfaces by cleaning thoroughly, lightly sanding and removing dust before painting. Stir well before use and apply using a quality brush or roller. Most projects require two coats, although darker, more heavily pigmented shades such as Autumn Leaf may benefit from a third coat for the richest finish.
