Who are Reduce. Reuse. Refurbish? 

We are Graeme and Hannah, a husband and wife team based in Coxhoe, Co. Durham with 9 years of upcycling experience each. Find out more about us by visiting our ‘about us’ page.

Are you the same business as GJF Furnishings?

Yes, Reduce. Reuse. Refurbish is our new business name. We rebranded in March 2024. We felt that GJF Furnishings no longer captured the essence of what we do overall, so we became Reduce. Reuse. Refurbish. A name we are very proud of, and feel it fits more with what we do overall.

Where are you located?

We are located in Coxhoe, County Durham.

Where do you deliver furniture to?

We deliver furniture across mainland UK using removals style couriers. Regrettably due to high courier costs, we are unable to deliver furniture to Northern Ireland and other isles. For the Scottish Highlands and Cornwall, we ask that you contact us prior to ordering as costs to these areas can be significantly higher and may require additional fees.

Do I have to pay for delivery?

We offer free delivery on orders over £199, and furniture orders below this threshold are charged at £49.

For smaller orders posted by Royal Mail, our postage is charged at £3.79, with free delivery over £40.

Please note, Sophie James Décor Paints have their own charge – this is because postage is arranged by Sophie James Décor Paints, not us.

£49 feels too high for delivery costs, is this right?

Yes. It is. Whilst we appreciate that it may feel high, please note that delivery charges are not set by us. We use external couriers most of the time to deliver and their fees are fixed. Delivery charges are higher than the £49 we charge, so we already subsidise the cost of delivery.

If you are within 5 miles of us (Coxhoe, Co. Durham), delivery is free.

How long will it take you to dispatch my order?

Normally we would aim to ship within 1-2 working days (excluding furniture). In the event of sickness, there may be delays to dispatching items. If this is the case, we will always endeavour to inform you as soon as possible. Where we have annual leave planned, this will be displayed in the header on our website, and in the shopping basket before you place your order. Sophie James Décor Paints and our the ‘Beginner’s Guide to Upcycling Furniture’ are processed as normal even whilst on holiday.

When we ship furniture with a courier, we aim to provide the best service with the most reliable couriers. On occasion, couriers may face setbacks in their delivery plans, which may cause delays to your furniture arriving when planned. The courier will have your contact details so they can update you in the event of any delays to their schedule. Furniture deliveries are typically completed within 7-10 days.

What if furniture is damaged on arrival?

Though rare, we recognise that occasionally our furniture can get damaged in transit and arrive to you not as you would have expected. If this is the case, please contact us as soon as possible and we will work with you and the couriers to resolve the situation.

I like the style of your upcycled furniture and was wondering if you do commissions?

Yes it is possible to arrange a commission to give your existing furniture a brand new look. Please send use our ‘furniture commission quote’ page to send us the information we need in order to generate a quote for you. Where can I find customer reviews?

You can find our customer reviews on Google and on our Facebook page, as well as testimonials throughout our website. Please note, our business name has changed since March 2024. You may read our reviews based on our former business name GJF Furnishings. This is still us. Our business hasn't changed, just our name and branding.

Is there a physical shop?

We closed our physical shop on 23rd July 2022 in Warwickshire due to us relocating to County Durham. We are now continuing the business online only with UK wide shipping. You can find us at the Coxhoe Market with a stall on the first Saturday of every month if you'd like to visit us. This market takes place at the Coxhoe Village Hall between 10am - 1pm.

Do you buy furniture from people?

Sometimes yes. If it is something we can work on, and we have the storage capacity it is possible we will buy furniture from people. Please note, we do not take sofas or chairs. We work with wooden furniture only.
