Old Charm Side Cabinet

This stunning Old Charm side cabinet is a true celebration of craftsmanship and creativity. A genuine vintage piece with a story to tell, it has been upcycled to honour its heritage while offering a fresh, artistic perspective. Rich in texture and visual depth, this one-of-a-kind cupboard makes a bold yet elegant statement — perfect for those who appreciate detail, history, and timeless design.

We began the transformation with a grounding coat of Frenchic’s Wise Old Sage, chosen for its calming, soft tones. This was followed by a 'dabbed' layer of Bramwell Green, a slightly cooler, moodier green from a different brand, applied strategically across the entire piece — especially within its recessed carvings and corners. The two colours were then carefully blended together with fresh brushwork, resulting in a layered two-tone effect that creates softness and incredible character.

The exquisite carved detailing on the door and framework has been highlighted using Rusty O’Bronze by Frenchic, a warm metallic shade that enhances the dimensional depth and gives the cabinet a hint of quiet opulence. Each of the side panels features a delicately stencilled pattern — subtle yet striking — which ties the entire piece together beautifully.

To preserve the finish and add a gently aged effect, the cabinet has been sealed with clear wax, then deepened with a touch of dark wax. A light distressing along the edges and corners brings out the contours of the wood and gives it a naturally timeworn charm, as though it has aged gracefully through decades of stories.

Whether used in a hallway, bedroom, or as a focal point in a cosy reading nook, this upcycled Old Charm cupboard is more than furniture — it’s a statement of sustainable design, craftsmanship, and heart.

A percentage of this sale will be donated to Marie Curie in honour of the lovely family who gave us this piece of furniture to refurbish and rehome.

The UK Wide Delivery option is for the rest of mainland UK and Scotland. We will send furniture through a removals  van style service.
