Vintage Drop-Front Cabinet

This striking Vintage cabinet began life as a humble chest of drawers — solid, well-built, and brimming with character from generations of use. We’ve carefully restored and reimagined it, keeping the craftsmanship and charm that time has given it, while lending it a renewed sense of purpose and style.

The drawer fronts have been stripped and sanded back to reveal their beautiful natural grain, before being detailed in Blackjack by Frenchic — a deep, inky black that gives wonderful contrast and definition. Each front has been treated with oil to enhance and protect the wood’s natural tone, adding warmth and subtle sheen. The body of the piece has been finished in matching Blackjack, creating a cohesive and contemporary edge to this classic form.

The two lower drawers were beyond saving in their original state, so we’ve transformed them into practical drop-front storage compartments. Each front has been fitted with sturdy piano hinges and a simple turn catch to keep them secure. These new compartments make ideal spaces for stowing away games, bags, or larger household items, while maintaining the elegant appearance of the original drawer fronts. The fronts hang freely, so they do need gentle handling when opened — a small nod to the piece’s long life and characterful past.

The result is a one-of-a-kind cabinet that blends history, craftsmanship and modern function. It’s solid, tactile, and wonderfully versatile — equally at home in a hallway, bedroom, or living space where a touch of antique charm meets contemporary practicality. We offer free UK delivery on orders over £199 (excluding Northern Ireland and Scottish Highlands). For these locations shipping must be quoted before placing your order as the cost is considerably more to ship to these areas. We reserve the right to cancel any orders to Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands if a shipping quote is not obtained prior to ordering and the delivery cost is deemed unreasonable.

If you specifically require a 2 man service please get in touch prior to ordering as there is a £20 additional charge for this service.

The UK Wide Delivery option is for the rest of mainland UK and Scotland. We will send furniture through a removals  van style service.
