Blue Upcycled Bureau

This charming bureau was on the verge of being discarded when we rescued it from the brink of landfill. With a little creativity and care, it has been transformed into a stunning deep blue writing desk, ready to grace its new home.

We used After Midnight by Frenchic, a rich deep blue, enhanced with dark wax to give it a mystical touch. Inside, the desk features a beautifully painted storage area that contrasts with the original wood details. The leather writing surface has been refreshed using a green leather colorant; while you may notice some gentle wear, it remains fully functional and ready for your thoughts and ideas.

The bureau includes a generous lockable cupboard with one shelf beneath the pull-down desk, which rests on two sturdy pull-out supports. Though the desk lock is no longer operational, it still offers two small drawers and five additional compartments, perfect for organizing notes and letters. The desk has a slight bow from years of use, but it remains sturdy and practical.
