Blue Upcycled Vintage Writing Bureau

This charming bureau desk was on the verge of being discarded when we rescued it from the brink of landfill. With a little creativity and care, it has been transformed into a stunning deep blue writing desk, ready to grace its new home.

We used After Midnight by Frenchic, a rich deep blue, enhanced with dark wax to give it a mystical touch. Inside, the desk features a beautifully painted storage area that contrasts with the original wood details. The leather writing surface has been refreshed using a green leather colorant; while you may notice some gentle wear, it remains fully functional and ready for your thoughts and ideas.

The bureau includes a generous lockable cupboard with one shelf beneath the pull-down desk, which rests on two sturdy pull-out supports. Though the desk lock is no longer operational, it still offers two small drawers and five additional compartments, perfect for organizing notes and letters. The desk has a slight bow from years of use, but it remains sturdy and practical.

For these locations shipping must be quoted before placing your order as the cost is considerably more to ship to these areas. We reserve the right to cancel any orders to Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands if a shipping quote is not obtained prior to ordering and the delivery cost is deemed unreasonable.

We will send furniture through a removals style van service. If you specifically require a 2 man service please get in touch prior to ordering as there is a £20 additional charge for this service.
