Large Vintage Solid Wood Coffee Table

This impressive large coffee table has been thoughtfully restored to create a beautiful centrepiece for your living room while preserving the character that only genuine vintage furniture can offer. Originally purchased from an antiques shop in Darlington over 30 years ago, it has clearly been enjoyed for decades and is now ready to begin its next chapter following a careful refurbishment.

Crafted from solid wood, the generous almost-square design provides plenty of surface space for everyday living, whether you're displaying books and decorative accessories, entertaining guests or simply relaxing with a coffee. Its substantial proportions make it particularly well suited to larger living rooms where a standard coffee table can often feel too small.

The table top has been carefully stripped back to the natural wood before being finished with Danish oil to enhance the rich grain and warm colour of the timber. Rather than covering the wood, this finish celebrates its natural beauty while providing a durable surface that will continue to develop character over time. The visible joint running through the centre of the top is an original feature of the table's construction and reflects the traditional way it was built.

To give the table a fresh contemporary look, the base has been hand painted in Olivia by Frenchic, a timeless sage green that complements the warmth of the natural wood beautifully. Delicate hand-painted gold detailing highlights the elegant turned legs and decorative apron, adding subtle contrast without distracting from the overall design.

Rather than removing every sign of age, we've intentionally retained some of the small marks and imperfections that have accumulated throughout the table's lifetime. These gentle reminders of its history give the piece an authenticity that simply can't be recreated with newly manufactured furniture.

Combining the warmth of natural wood with a soft painted finish, this large wooden coffee table works equally well in country homes, farmhouse interiors and more contemporary living spaces.
