This beautiful wooden dining chair is a stunning example of Queen Anne style design, so elegant we chose to leave it unpainted to let its natural beauty shine. From the joinery to the carved shell detail on the legs, every element showcases careful, unrivalled craftsmanship.

The woodwork joints have been expertly hand-crafted and glued together, with not a single screw in sight. Even the central seat base is fixed securely using traditional methods, a true testament to the skill of the maker.

The chair’s vase-shaped splat features a delicate decorative inlay on the backrest, perfectly complementing the graceful cabriole ‘S’-shaped legs and the refined shell carving. These details are unmistakably in keeping with the classic Queen Anne style.

As expected of a likely antique, there are some minor dinks and dents that only add to the chair’s charm and character without affecting its use. This is a truly timeless piece that reflects the craftsmanship and elegance of a bygone era.

How It Works

You can purchase this beautiful piece as it is, showcasing its natural antique finish, or customise it to suit your personal style. We offer three customisation options which you can select when ordering:

• Single colour
• Two colours
• Mix of painted and wood* – Paint the main body while keeping some parts as wood where possible

If you’re after something special, such as distressing the paintwork or shaded waxing for an aged finish, simply type your request into the designated box when placing your order. For extra details like stenciling, or decoupage, we’d need to discuss your ideas with you beforehand and provide a bespoke quote for the additional work. Additional work like this cannot be guaranteed without discussion prior to ordering.

We primarily use high-quality self priming furniture paints from Frenchic and Rustoleum. If you’d prefer another brand, let us know – we can discuss availability, costs, and whether it’s suitable for the job. Please note that some paint brands require additional priming, which we’ll also consider, at an additional cost.

Here's what you need to know:

What happens once I've placed my order?  Once you place your order, we’ll get in touch by phone or email to confirm every detail and discuss your preferred style on this unique piece. We’ll make sure everything is clear before we begin working on your chair. If additional details or requests are added at this point which incur additional charges, these would need to be quoted, confirmed and paid for in full before works commence.

Timeframe: Most orders are expected to take 2–4 weeks to complete before delivery is booked. 

Cancellations: If additional work is requested beyond the listed options but isn’t quoted or confirmed with us prior to ordering, or if the piece cannot achieve the desired finish, we reserve the right to cancel your order. If this happens before work starts, you’ll receive a full refund. We will of course try to work with you beforehand to find a suitable alternative solution when works are not achievable due to the piece.

Non-refundable Works: Once we’ve confirmed details with you and started transforming your bespoke piece, cancellations and refunds won’t be possible. If you change your mind on the colour once we have started work, this will be subject to additional costs.

Updates: We will keep you updated with progress during the process and can send photographs when milestones are achieved. Occassionally, we may suggest alternative ideas to what was orginally discussed, based on how the works progress. Where we do this, we will wait for your confirmation on how to proceed before taking further steps.

We are not responsible for variations in colour or finish due to monitor or screen settings when choosing paint colours. Additionally, as our furniture is refurbished and customised to order, minor imperfections inherent to the piece are to be expected and add to the character of the bespoke item. If you are ordering it in it's current condition, this does not involve any restoration works.
