This New Plan drop leaf table is the perfect combination of style and functionality. With the smooth oval table top, when fully extended, and it's beautiful table legs, this table can be a real focal point during family get togethers or social gatherings. And the best part? It tucks away perfectly when you need to save on space. The table extends out from the centre, meaning when not in full use, you can tuck it away neatly taking up minimal space, making it ideal an ideal dining table for smaller kitchen/dining spaces. The table top extends out and is fully supported by slide out struts below, which also tuck away neatly when not in use.
This piece is available in its current condition or can be upcycled to suit your personal style. Please note that if you choose to purchase it in its current aged condition, the dressing table will retain the surface imperfections that reflect its history and charm.
Customisation Options
Want to make it your own? We offer three ways to customise this piece:
- Single Colour: Choose one paint colour for a bold, cohesive look.
- Two Colours: Create contrast or highlight specific features with a two-tone finish.
- Mix of Painted and Wood: Opt for a stylish combination by painting the main body while preserving some of the original wood finish (where possible).

Looking for something extra special? You can request additional finishes, such as distressed paintwork, shaded waxing for an aged look, or bespoke details like stenciling, decoupage. Simply add your ideas to the designated box when placing your order. For these customisations, we’ll need to discuss your vision and provide a bespoke quote for the additional work.
We primarily use self-priming furniture paints from Frenchic and Rustoleum. If you’d like us to use a different brand, let us know, and we can discuss availability, costs, and suitability.
Here's what you need to know:
What happens once I've placed my order? Once you place your order, we’ll get in touch by phone or email to confirm every detail and discuss your preferred style on this unique piece. We’ll make sure everything is clear before we begin working on your dining table. If additional details or requests are added at this point which incur additional charges, these would need to be quoted, confirmed and paid for in full before works commence.
Timeframe: Most orders are expected to take 2–4 weeks to complete before delivery is booked.
Cancellations: If additional work is requested beyond the listed options but isn’t quoted or confirmed with us prior to ordering, or if the piece cannot achieve the desired finish, we reserve the right to cancel your order. If this happens before work starts, you’ll receive a full refund. We will of course try to work with you beforehand to find a suitable alternative solution when works are not achievable due to the piece.
Non-refundable Works: Once we’ve confirmed details with you and started transforming your bespoke piece, cancellations and refunds won’t be possible. If you change your mind on the colour once we have started work, this will be subject to additional costs.
Updates: We will keep you updated with progress during the process and can send photographs when milestones are achieved. Occasionally, we may suggest alternative ideas to what was originally discussed, based on how the works progress. Where we do this, we will wait for your confirmation on how to proceed before taking further steps.
Disclaimer
We are not responsible for variations in colour or finish due to monitor or screen settings when choosing paint colours. Additionally, as our furniture is refurbished and customised to order, minor imperfections inherent to the piece are to be expected and add to the character of the bespoke item. If you are ordering it in it's current condition, this does not involve any restoration works, so old scratches and wear will still be present.

We offer free UK delivery on orders over £199 (excluding Northern Ireland and Scottish Highlands). For these locations shipping must be quoted before placing your order as the cost is considerably more to ship to these areas. We reserve the right to cancel any orders to Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands if a shipping quote is not obtained prior to ordering and the delivery cost is deemed unreasonable.
If you specifically require a 2 man service please get in touch prior to ordering as there is a £20 additional charge for this service.

To determine the cost of delivery, you will be asked to enter your postcode on the checkout page.
Local delivery and furniture delivery within a 10 mile radius (of our address) will automatically be offered if your postcode is within the perimeter. These deliveries will be co-ordinated by ourselves.
The UK Wide Delivery option is for the rest of mainland UK and Scotland. We will send furniture through a removals van style service.
*For orders to Northern Ireland and Scottish Highlands shipping must be quoted before placing your order.
Please note that where there is a combination of Sophie James Paints, and other products ordered, there may be two separate delivery charges.
