I purchased a lovely bureau, which I am delighted with.

It's hard to believe such great pieces of furniture are just thrown out, but thanks to Hannah and Graeme, they are given a new lease of life.

Communication with Hannah and Graeme was outstanding. They are so accommodating, kind and caring, real gems who care about what they do and their customers, too.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again or recommend them.

Hand Painted & Upcycled Furniture for Sale

Discover our ever-changing collection of upcycled furniture for sale, including hand painted furniture, restored vintage pieces and one-of-a-kind furniture professionally refurbished in our County Durham workshop.

We carefully select vintage and pre-loved furniture for its quality, character and potential, then give it a new lease of life through thoughtful restoration and hand finishing.

Browse Our Upcycled Furniture For Sale

Whether you're furnishing a single room or your entire home, our collection includes a wide range of restored furniture, including:

Our stock changes regularly as we complete new restoration projects, so you'll always find something different to explore. As every piece is individual, once a favourite has found a new home, it may not be replaced with an identical item.

Furniture Restored with Care

We believe quality furniture deserves to be preserved rather than replaced. That's why every item passes through our workshop before being offered for sale.

Each piece is individually assessed and restored according to its condition. Some require only a thorough clean and refinishing, while others need structural repairs, replacement hardware, drawer restoration or complete refinishing. Our aim is always the same: to preserve the original craftsmanship while creating furniture that's practical for modern everyday living.

Because every piece is different, no two restoration projects are ever the same.

Why Buy Upcycled Furniture Instead of New?

Upcycling furniture isn't simply about repairing the past – it's about reimagining quality pieces for modern living. Older furniture often has character, solid construction and details that are difficult to find in today's mass-produced furniture.

Quality & Value

Many older pieces were built using solid timber and traditional joinery, giving them a level of quality that's increasingly difficult to find in mass-produced furniture.

Unique Character
Every piece has its own history, shape and details, making upcycled furniture genuinely individual. From original timber features to carefully chosen painted finishes, no two pieces are exactly alike.

Professionally Restored
Each item is cleaned, repaired and prepared in our County Durham workshop before being refinished and offered for sale.

A New Lease of Life
Choosing upcycled furniture means giving an existing piece another chance to be enjoyed rather than replacing it with something new.

Restored by Hand

Every piece is restored in our own workshop using professional furniture restoration techniques and carefully selected paints from trusted brands including Sophie James Decor Paint, Rust-Oleum Furniture Paint and Frenchic.

Preparation is just as important as painting. We thoroughly clean, repair and prepare every piece before applying multiple coats where required, allowing sufficient drying and curing time to achieve a durable finish. Where original timber deserves to be showcased, we may carefully restore and stain the natural wood instead of painting it.

Our restoration process is guided by one simple principle: every piece should leave our workshop looking beautiful while remaining practical for everyday use.

Upcycled Furniture Delivered Across the UK

We offer reliable UK-wide delivery using a specialist removals-style furniture transport service. Unlike standard courier networks, your furniture is carefully handled throughout its journey, helping ensure it arrives in the same excellent condition it left our workshop.

Many pieces are transported fully assembled, and delivery routes are planned to provide a safe and efficient service across the UK. We'll keep you informed throughout the process and arrange a convenient delivery day wherever possible.

Why Choose Reduce. Reuse. Refurbish?

As a small family business with 9 years of experience restoring and refinishing vintage furniture, we're passionate about giving quality pieces a second life instead of seeing them end up in landfill. Every item is personally restored in our County Durham workshop, with careful attention to craftsmanship, durability and detail.

Over the years, we've restored hundreds of pieces of furniture, combining traditional restoration techniques with high-quality paints and finishes to create furniture that's both beautiful and practical for modern living. Our commitment to quality and customer service has earned us the Furniture Retailer of the Year Award for the North East in the My Local Awards.

When you buy from us, you're choosing genuinely restored furniture that's been thoughtfully repaired, prepared and professionally refinished by experienced hands—not simply painted, but carefully transformed to be enjoyed for many years to come.

As a small family-run furniture business, your feedback means everything to us. We love seeing our restored furniture find new homes, and you can read our Google reviews to hear what our customers have to say about their experience with Reduce. Reuse. Refurbish.

Bespoke Furniture Commissions

Looking for something more personal? If you're within approximately one hour of Durham, we also offer a bespoke furniture commission service. Whether you'd like to transform a treasured family heirloom or create a unique piece finished in your chosen colour, we'll work with you to bring your ideas to life.

We also have our Custom Furniture section where we have listed pieces of furniture for sale that we have yet to work on. This means you can pick the piece, and we will refurbish it in the colour and style of your choice, making it truly bespoke, and a one-of-a-kind piece that is personal to you.

Sustainable Living Made Simple

Every purchase from our refurbished collection helps reduce demand for new furniture production — one of the most resource‑intensive industries. By extending the life of existing pieces, you contribute to a circular economy that values reuse over waste and supports meaningful transformation in how homes are furnished.

Choosing upcycled furniture is an easy, stylish way to make a positive environmental impact without sacrificing comfort or design. Wherever possible we reclaim materials and reuse hardware; items beyond repair are responsibly recycled.

With so many stylish, high-quality second-hand pieces available, choosing our furniture is an easy way to make a positive environmental impact without sacrificing aesthetics or comfort.

Giving Furniture A New Lease of Life

Choosing upcycled furniture is a simple way to furnish your home with pieces that have character and history. By restoring and reusing quality furniture, we help keep useful materials in circulation for longer while creating individual pieces that are made to be enjoyed.

Every piece we restore has its own story, and we're proud to give these furniture pieces another chapter in a new home.
